LAGRANGE MAN ARRESTED AFTER NARCOTICS FOUND IN MOTEL ROOM
A La Grange man was arrested on Friday after the Fayette County Narcotics Unit executed a search warrant at his motel room.
According to Fayette County Sheriff Keith Korenek, the Narcotics Unit went to the Carter Motel in reference to reports of narcotics being sold in one of the rooms.
Once inside, deputies found approximately 400 pills or 82 grams of ecstasy, 1616 grams of THC containing products, 4.75 pounds of marijuana, 4.3 grams of cocaine, a half full bottle of promethazine with codeine, scales, packaging for the narcotics, and $6,065 in cash.
47-year-old Corey Powell was taken into custody for three counts of Manufacturing/Delivery of a Controlled Substance (greater than 4 grams but less than 200 grams), one count of Manufacturing/Deliver of a Controlled Substance (greater than 1 gram, but less than 4 grams), one count of Manufacturing/Delivery of a Controlled Substance (greater than 400 grams), and Possession of Marijuana (greater than 4 ounces but less than 5 pounds).
The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the La Grange Police Department and the Texas DPS.
