TXDOT PREPARING FOR THE FREEZING WEATHER

  

While there are currently no road closures due to inclement weather, the Texas Department of Transportation is monitoring and will continue to monitor the state road system as the impending cold front arrives tomorrow (Thursday).

Several TxDOT Districts are pretreating roads and bridges ahead of this weather event. 

TxDOT is encouraging the traveling public to stay off the roads if inclement weather situations arise. 

However, if travel is necessary, travel with caution, and please check road conditions, and closures online at https://drivetexas.org, use the Drive Texas app on any mobile device, or call 1-800-452-9292.

Information presented on Drive Texas is as close to real-time as possible, and is a vital tool for the public during the emergency situations when information about road closures is being shared.

Along with finding road closures, the site provides information about construction zones, flooding, damage, and accidents.
