WASHINGTON CO. APPRAISAL DISTRICT BOARD REVIEWS YEARLONG REPORTS

  

The Washington County Appraisal District Board of Directors on Monday went through the data of year-end reports.   

The board was presented the 2022 annual and mass appraisal reports.

The annual report included notable statistics on appraisal results and property appeals. 

In appraisal results, residential real property saw $85,010,648 in new value in 2022, compared to $49,818,974 in 2021.  New value in commercial real property this year totaled $27,140,986, more than triple the $8,595,966 from 2021.  In oil and gas, total taxable value this year shot up to $932,193,124 from $279,341,890 last year.

Property appeal numbers also rose considerably this year, as the number of formal protests was 2,701 in comparison to 1,527 in 2021.  Informal protests came in at 688 this year, over double the 291 from last year.

An item on the agenda called for the board to consider an update to the county’s agricultural and wildlife policy, but no action was taken as it was addressed at the previous meeting.
