SOCKS FOR SENIORS PROGRAM RECEIVES DONATIONS

Some local organizations are helping area nursing homes and assisted living centers stay warm with the annual “Socks for Seniors” program.
“Socks for Seniors” is a joint project between the Washington County Ladies Lions Club, the Women’s Fellowship of the Friedens Church of Washington, and the accounting, actuarial, data, BI, and maintenance departments at Germania Insurance.
Each of the six nursing homes and assisted-living centers in Brenham received a box of socks, blankets, custom-made bibs, and stacks of Christmas cards.
The socks and blankets were collected at a Germania department event and at the Ladies Lions Club Christmas Party.

The adult bibs were donated to the Ladies Lions Club by one of their supporters.
The sacks of Christmas cards came from the Friedens Church Women’s Fellowship, who are also donating some of them to nursing homes in Navasota as well.
In addition to that, a Lion supporter made a donation to Bluebonnet Haven of clothes, shoes, jackets, and 40 canvas totes.
