HEMPSTEAD NAMES MORGAN INTERIM HIGH SCHOOL PRINCIPAL
A former Brenham High School assistant principal has been named as the new interim principal for Hempstead High School.
LaKesha Morgan, who has been the assistant principal at Hempstead High School, was chosen by the Hempstead School Board to take charge of the campus until a permanent successor is chosen.
The previous high school principal, Samantha Ray Mullens, was recently promoted to Special Programs Administrator for Hempstead ISD.
Prior to coming to Hempstead, Morgan had served for six years as an assistant principal at Brenham High School.
In her 17 years in education, Morgan has served as a school improvement officer, a reading/language arts teacher, and a department chair.
She has also coached volleyball, basketball, track, and soccer.
Morgan graduated from Prairie View A&M University with a bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies and a master’s degree in Educational Administration.
In 2021, she received her superintendent certification from Lamar University.
Awesome! Brenham ISD suffers another loss and another school district benefits from the “lack of vision” at Brenham ISD. In the words of “in house” staff, Brenham ISD suffers from a “stale, stunted stupor and outdated strategy that is systematically retarding the growth & development of classes, campuses, staff and students”. Congratulations, Mrs. Morgan!
Way to go!!! So proud of you !!!
