WOOTEN UP FOR 5A QUARTERBACK OF THE YEAR

The website, TexasHSFootball.com, is doing a fan vote for the 5A Quarterback of the Year, and Brenham's Rylan Wooten is among the nominees.

This past season as a senior, Wooten helped lead the Brenham Cub Football Team to an 8-5 record, and they made it to the Region Semifinals of the playoffs.

Wooten finished the year completing 163 of 298 passes for 2,348 yards with 27 touchdowns to just four interceptions.

He also carried the ball 240 times for 1,374 yards and 16 touchdowns.

Wooten was the first quarterback in Brenham Cub history to run for over 1,000 yards and pass for over 2,000 yards in the same season.
