CUB BASKETBALL GOES 1-1 ON DAY TWO AT WEST OSO

The Brenham Cub Basketball Team split their games on day two of the West Oso Tournament.

In the opener, the Cubs beat Victoria West 50-43. 

Brenham jumped out to a 14-7 lead in the first quarter. Victoria came back to win the second quarter 17-16, but the Cubs still took a 30-24 lead into the locker room at halftime.

The third quarter proved to be very low scoring, but it was won by the Cubs 7-6. Both teams put up 13 points in the fourth quarter.

Shaun Ray and Isaac Powell had 16 points each. Kobe Mathis added seven points.

In the second game, Brenham lost to San Antonio East Central 36-33. 

Central won the first quarter 15-11. The Cubs won the second quarter 7-4 to cut the lead to 19-18 at halftime.

Central won the third quarter 10-5. Brenham outscored them in the fourth quarter 10-7, but still fell just short.

Shaun Ray led the way with 13 points. Kobe Mathis added seven points.

The Cubs finish the tournament 3-1.

Brenham is now 12-8 on the season.
