WASHINGTON COUNTY COMMISSIONERS MEET TUESDAY

EMS Director Kevin Deramus

The Washington County Commissioners Court is holding their next meeting on Tuesday morning.

Among the agenda items is the approval of a Lease to Own Satellite EMS Crew Quarters by Washington County for the EMS Department.

According to EMS Director Kevin Deramus, the agreement is between the county and the Prairie Hill Volunteer Fire Department to place a paramedic in their fire station to decrease response times to District 7, which is the Prairie Hill area.

Prairie Hill has completed a “crew quarters” remodel of their fire station and are allowing the EMS to house a paramedic there.

Deramus said this agreement lays out the responsibilities for the two sides including rent, and who pays for electricity, housing, water, and internet usage.

Other agenda items include the appointment of Washington County Auditor Shawna Dyer to replace Sharon Stolz as the Washington County Records Management Officer.  Stolz retired last month after working for the county for 47 years.

District Attorney Julie Renken has also put in a request to increase the salary of the Intake Clerk for the remainder of 2023 using proceeds from the D.A.’s Asset Forfeiture Account.

The Washington County Commissioners meet Tuesday at 9am in their Chambers at the Washington County Courthouse.
