LAROCHE FILES FOR WARD 3 CITY COUNCIL SEAT
A long time Brenham dentist has become the first person to file for the vacant Ward Three City Council special election on May 6th.
Friday was the first day to file for the election, and Dr. Paul LaRoche III became the first candidate to file.
La Roche is running for the seat that has been vacated by Atwood Kenjura, who is running for Mayor of Brenham.
The special election had to be called in order to fill the vacant position for the remainder of Kenjura’s term.
The filing period for the special election for the Ward Three City Council seat runs through March 6th.
There are a total of four seats on the ballot for the election. Kenjura and Keith Hofmann are vying for Mayor, while Albert Wright and Adonna Saunders are currently unopposed for their respective Ward 2 and Ward 4 Council seats.
With LaRoche’s filing that means there is at least one candidate for each seat on the ballot.
Early voting will be held April 24th through May 2nd.
This is great. There are many qualified people in Brenham that need to throw in their hat and give Brenham some choices.
