STAFF MEMBERS AT NAVASOTA HOSPITAL ASSAULTED, POLICE SAY

Navasota police are investigating an assault at the St. Joseph Health Grimes Hospital.

Police responded to the hospital around 6:15 a.m. Tuesday for a report of a physical disturbance between a patient and hospital staff.

Officers arrived on scene and found a male patient, from Navasota, who they say had assaulted three hospital staff members.

Guards from the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, who were at the hospital for an unrelated reason, assisted hospital staff prior to police arriving.

The staff members at the hospital were treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Police say the patient was transported to St. Joseph Hospital in Bryan for other health issues.  An arrest warrant for assault has been issued.

  1. I work there as a volunteer. I’m a little afraid to come back, should I be concerned, how safe I will be working there?

    1. I suggest you ask the hospital management. They are probably your best source of information regarding safety procedures at the Navasota hospital.
