CUB BOWLING WINS BLUEBONNET DISTRICT TITLE

Avenging a defeat in December the Cub Bowling team swept Bellville 15-0 at Rose Bowl Lanes on Wednesday evening to clinch the Bluebonnet District title and advance to the Regional tournament in Cypress.
The feature match pitted Cub Senior Lane Sparks against Garret Ackley of Bellville. Lane won the first game 190-188 and then won the second game 201-181 to take the first match.
In the second match RJ Ratliff (Sr.) of Brenham bowled his best games of the year rolling a 203 and 196 to lead all bowlers.
Also for Brenham, Sophomore Tyler Lindeman rolled his high game of the year with a 188 and Senior Gunner Gee also bowled his best game of the year with a 187. Freshman Thomas Loesch won his match to help the Cubs sweep the singles events.
In the team portion of the match the Cubs bowled games of 199-164-209 to sweep the doubles also. Junior Joe Dubovik contributed a key strike in the second game to ensure the win for the Cubs.
For the Brahmas, Garret Ackley led the team followed by Freshman Ryan Duffala who had a 153, Koda Barnet with a 148, Robbie Smith with a 137, and Zander Felter with a 108.
The Brenham Girl's team bowled unopposed. Leah Hardy led all bowlers with games of 176-143 followed by Erin Keller (140-160), Macie Cosky (143-130) and Emmy Boyd (130-126).
Earlier in the year, the Brenham Girls teams also clinched the District title and the right to represent the Bluebonnet District at Regionals.
