FAYETTE CO. DEPUTIES ARREST DRIVER FOR DRUG POSSESSION

A Beaumont man was arrested on Friday morning following a traffic stop in Fayette County.
Fayette County Sheriff’s Deputy A.J. Gonzales made a traffic stop on a vehicle near La Grange around 8:45am.
Gonzales detected the odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle.
After conducting a probable cause search, he discovered both marijuana and cocaine inside.
Gonzales took the driver, Jose Esquivel, into custody without incident on a charge of possession of a controlled substance.
Esquivel was jailed at the Dan R. Beck Justice Center.
