TEXAS RANGER DAY MARCH 11 IN BURTON

  

Downtown Burton is getting ready for the Burton Heritage Society’s 12th Annual Texas Ranger Day.

The history of the Texas Rangers will be on full display on Saturday, March 11th from noon to 5 p.m.

Among the day’s activities will be demonstrations by the Legends of the Texas Rangers and the Old West Rangers, blacksmithing, chuckwagon cooking, mule driven buggy rides and the Annie Maud Avis Memorial Fajita and Bean Cook-off.

There will also be DJ music from the Kountry Chick, tours of the Burton Railroad Depot and Burton Cotton Gin, a silent auction and the Lil Mr. and Miss Ranger Contest.

Admission to Texas Ranger Day is free.  Entry into the cook-off is $15 for adults, $10 for children 6-10.  Proceeds go toward the restoration of the historic Mt. Zion Chapel.
