HOUSTON MAN ARRESTED ON DRUG CHARGES
A Houston man was arrested after a late Friday night traffic stop resulted in drug charges.
Sgt. Ryan Meagher with the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office stopped a 2015 Toyota Camry around 11:45pm near La Grange for having an expired registration sticker.
Meagher asked the driver, 24-year-old Brett Nixon, to exit the vehicle under suspicion of him possibly being impaired.
Nixon admitted to Meagher that there were narcotics inside the vehicle.
A search of the Camry revealed 4.75 ounces of psilocybin mushrooms, 26 vape cartridges containing THC, 11 containers of THC wax, and 3.25 ounces of marijuana.
Nixon was arrested and transported to the Dan R. Beck Justice Center. He was charged with two counts of Manufacture/Deliver of a Controlled Substance greater than 4 grams but less than 400 grams, and Possession of Marijuana greater than two ounces, but less than 4 ounces.
