KATY MAN ARRESTED ON MULTIPLE CHARGES
A Katy man was arrested on multiple charges after an early morning traffic stop on Saturday.
Fayette County Sheriff’s Deputy Seth Nagel stopped a 2015 Toyota Camry on Highway 71 near Airport Road for a traffic violation.
During the course of his investigation, Deputy Nagel asked the driver, 29-year-old Anthony Skipper, to step out of the car so that he could conduct a probable cause search. By that time, Sgt. Ryan Meagher had arrived to assist him.
Deputies say Skipper attempted to shut the door and drive away at which point they pulled him from the vehicle.
A brief struggle ensued as the car began to roll across the lanes of traffic and into the center median.
Thankfully, two vehicles stopped a safe distance away and blocked traffic as the deputies attempted to arrest Skipper in the middle of the highway.
It was later discovered that the vehicle he was driving was reported stolen out of Travis County and it was also displaying a fictious license plate.
A search of the vehicle led to the discovery of cocaine, crack cocaine, prescription pills, and marijuana.
Skipper was taken to the Dan R. Beck Justice Center for Possession of a Controlled Substance greater than 4 grams but less than 200 grams, Evading Arrest/Detention with a Vehicle, Resisting Arrest/Search/Transport, and Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle.
