BRENHAM CUBS FALL TO CLEAR FALLS 7-3

The Brenham Cub Baseball Team wrapped up the Clear Creek ISD Tournament with a 7-3 loss to Clear Falls High School on Saturday.

The Cubs scratched out a couple of runs in the top of the third inning. Rylan Wooten led the inning off with a double, and later scored on an RBI single by Lane Sparks.

Sparks stole second, stole third, and then scored on an error. Those runs put the Cubs up 2-0.

Clear Falls cut the lead in half with a run in the bottom of the third inning to make it 2-1 Brenham.

The Cubs added an additional run in the top of the 4th. Wooten reached base on a fielder's choice. He then came around to score on an RBI double by Sparks.

The Knights would then come back to put up one run in the 4th, two runs in the 5th, and three runs in the 6th inning.

R.J. Ratcliff got the start for Brenham going five innings, six hits, four runs, three of which were earned, eight walks, and four strikeouts. Brody Hemann pitched the sixth and final inning allowing three runs, only one was earned, one walk, and two strikeouts.

The Cubs are back in action tomorrow (Tuesday) night at 7pm at Cypress Woods High School. KWHI will have live coverage beginning with the pregame at 6:35pm on 1280AM, 101.7FM, and KWHI.com.
