ECSTASY ARREST IN AUSTIN COUNTY
A traffic stop in Austin County resulted in an arrest after a motorist was discovered to be in possession of illegal drugs.
According to the Austin County Sheriff’s Office, on Wednesday, a traffic stop was made on I-10 at the 722 westbound mile marker near Sealy.
The driver was identified as 46-year-old Caron Howling of Channelview.
During the traffic stop, an Austin County Sergeant observed illegal contraband inside the vehicle that was identified as MDMA or Ecstasy.
Howling was placed under arrest for Possession of a Controlled Substance.
A Waller County K-9 unit was contacted to assist in the investigation.
Waller County K-9 Officer “Nikko” conducted a free air sniff of the vehicle and showed a positive alert.
A further search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of an additional 156 grams of Ecstasy.
Howling was transported and booked into the Austin County Jail for the charge of Manufacturing/Delivery of a Controlled Substance (greater than 4 grams but less than 200 grams.)
