One of the largest knife shows in Texas, featuring bladesmiths and knifemakers from across the nation, is making its return to Bellville.

The Texas Select Custom Cutlery Event is the largest organized gathering of the History Channel’s “Forged in Fire” bladesmiths in the nation.

The event, which is being held April 1 and April 2 from 9am-4pm each day, is hosted by Phenix Knives at the Austin County Fair Convention and Expo Center.  Admission is $10 at the door.

Visitors will have the opportunity to see live demonstrations by many “Forged in Fire” notable bladesmiths. Guests can visit with them about their work, purchase custom pieces, get pictures and autographs, plus try their hand at forging with the pros.

There is also going to be a tomahawk throwing contest for a chance to win a custom forged hawk.

In addition to that, visitors can bid on custom pieces during the auction and cheer for their favorites during the Chopping Competition Tournament each day.

Phenix Knives is donating a custom forged knife to the local Bellville Engineering, Science and Technology Booster Club.  They are going to have a drawing for the knife with proceeds going to benefit the Booster Club’s summer science camp and scholarship fund.
