BRENHAM ISD TO OFFER SUMMER FOOD SERVICE PROGRAM

  

This summer, Brenham ISD will connect children 18 and younger, as well as, enrolled students with disabilities up to 21 years old with healthy, no cost summer meals.

The meals will be served Monday-Thursday at Krause Elementary School, June 5 through July 27.  They are going to have breakfast available from 7am-8am, and lunch from noon-1pm.

The Summer Food Service Program is administered by the Texas Department of Agriculture.  For children, who rely on school meals during the academic year, these meals offer a source of good nutrition when school is out for summer vacation.

BISD Director of Child Nutrition Kasandra Davis said, “Brenham children need good nutrition year-round so they can learn, grow, and succeed in life. With nearly two million food insecure children living in Texas, these healthy meals are vital to nourishing young Texans during the Summer vacation.”

Brenham ISD is one of the non-profit organizations partnering with the TDA to serve meals across Texas.
