BRENHAM PARKS AND RECREATION TO HOLD KIDS TO PARK DAY

The City of Brenham Parks and Recreation Department is planning a special Pop-Up Play Day tomorrow (Saturday) to celebrate Kids to Park Day

Kids to Park Day is a national day of outdoor play that is celebrated annually on the third Saturday of May. It is a day that connects kids and families with their local, state, and national parks, and public lands.

The first part of the day’s activities will be held at Jackson Street Park from 9:30am-11:30am.  They include learning how to make and fly a kite, lawn games, Wright Fitness, and Pickleball.

The activities will then shift over to the Blue Bell Aquatic Center from 12-2pm.  They are going to start with a water safety demonstration from 12-12:30pm, followed by a free swim in the outdoor leisure pool from 12:30-2pm.

According to the Parks and Recreation Department, in order to participate in the free swim, you must attend the water safety demonstration first.

The Pop-Up Play Day to celebrate Kids to Park Day is being co-sponsored by the Boys and Girls Club of Washington County.
