THE EAGLE SHIFTING TO THREE-DAY PRINT SCHEDULE
The Bryan-College Station Eagle is reducing its number of weekly print editions.
An op-ed published Sunday by Regional Editor Steve Boggs announces that starting on June 20th, the paper will be delivered three times a week, on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday. Daily content will still be published online at https://theeagle.com.
However, the paper says each print edition will be expanded with more pages and content to provide a “‘Sunday’ reading experience.”
The paper also says that editions will now be delivered by the U.S. Postal Service, rather than newspaper carriers.
Boggs writes that the new format is in response to “changing news consumption habits” and other factors impacting local news, including “shifts in advertising trends, increasing newsprint costs, and the job market.”
