CITY OF BELLVILLE SETS COMMERCIAL PARKING PERMIT FEE
Commercial vehicles are now going to be required to have a parking permit in order to be legally parked on a street in the Bellville city limits.
At a recent meeting, the Bellville City Council amended their traffic and vehicle ordinance in order to establish a commercial vehicle parking fee.
The yearly permit is $20, and will be available for purchase at the Bellville City Hall.
Commercial vehicles must have their permits displayed in their window, or in another place that can be easily seen from the street at all times when the vehicle is parked on a city street.
Commercial vehicles without the permit can be charged with a misdemeanor and face a fine of up to $500.
The amendment does not apply to RV’s, emergency vehicles, or various vehicles being used by city departments, public utility companies, or Bellville ISD.
According to the Bellville Times, Alderman Arlie Kendrick made the motion for passage and it was seconded by Mayor Pro Tem Garrett Dornon. Alderwomen Betty Hollon and Ashley Slater also voted in favor.
