BURTON AMERICAN LEGION FOURTH OF JULY PICNIC

One of the oldest Fourth of July celebrations in Washington County will be returning for another year.

American Legion Post 242 in Burton, their Ladies' Auxiliary, and the Sons of the American Legion (SAL) are holding their annual Fourth of July Picnic at the Burton Community Center.

The celebration has been held every year since 1888, excluding the war years. The American Legion Post 242 has been sponsoring it every year since 1920.

They will have a barbecue meal with serving scheduled to begin at 11am.  Tickets are $18 each.

In addition to the meal, they are having a cake walk that begins at noon, and bingo runs from 1-5pm.

Other activities include a live auction at noon and the silent auction ends at 2pm.
