JAMES DICK FOUNDATION, CITY OF CARMINE AWARDED $25,000 GRANTS

The Round Top Festival Institute and the City of Carmine will benefit from grants awarded last week by the Lower Colorado River Authority (LCRA).

The LCRA presented a $25,000 grant to the James Dick Foundation for the Performing Arts to purchase a new public address system for the Festival Concert Hall.

Paired with $26,540 in matching funds from the foundation, the money will help pay for a new controller, touch panel, speakers and other equipment to enhance the sound quality in the hall and create a better experience for visitors.

Another $25,000 grant was given by the LCRA and Bluebonnet Electric Cooperative to the City of Carmine to build a new concrete plaza and renovate the flood-damaged pavilion at Muehlbrad-Albers City Park.

The grant, along with $32,800 in matching funds from the Carmine Economic Development Corporation, will help make the park safer and able to accommodate larger groups.

The grants are two of 34 awarded recently through LCRA’s Community Development Partnership Program.  Applications for the next round of grants will be accepted in July at www.lcra.org/cdpp
