Sealy Head Baseball Coach Trey Marik has announced his retirement from coaching.

Marik announced his retirement after spending the last two seasons as the Head Coach for the Tigers, where he compiled a 43-16 record.

Marik was an assistant baseball coach for the Brenham Cubs working under both Jim Long and Lanny Williams from 2005-2019.

He also had a short stint as the head coach for the Somerville Yeguas.

Marik told the Bellville Times that he had been leaning towards retirement from coaching, and when former Sealy Athletic Director Shane Mobley announced his departure earlier this month, that cemented his decision.

Marik stressed that his retirement has nothing to do with new Athletic Director Clint Finley. He told the newspaper that he had already turned in his resignation before he even knew who was getting the job.

Marik is going to be returning to Brenham, where he has accepted a teaching position.
