BURTON CITY COUNCIL AMENDS STATE GRANT APPLICATION

  

The Burton City Council on Monday approved a resolution to amend the city’s contract through the Texas Community Development Block Grant Program.

The amendment is to the city’s 2021-22 grant application awarded through the Texas Department of Agriculture, pertaining to water improvements activity in the Main, Railroad and South Brazos Street area.

City Secretary Angela Harrington explained that a portion of the project outlined in the application was found to have already been completed at some time in the past. 

The project substituting for that portion of the application was chosen to be the installation of a water line replacement on South Brazos Street.  It will replace a 2-inch water line with a 6-inch water line, having a length of approximately 400-500 feet.
