BRENHAM ISD TEACHER PARTICIPATES IN LEAD PROGRAM
As part of the special Leadership, Education, Advocacy, and Development (LEAD) Series, the Texas FFA Foundation invited 36 agricultural science teachers on a five-day professional development tour across the western part of the state.
Among those taking part was Brenham ISD Agriculture Teacher Travis Gonzales, who also serves as the school district’s CTE Coordinator.
In total, more than 1,300 miles were traveled for 17 industry and sponsor visits and tours.
Gonzales and the other teachers who participated in the program heard from more than 60 presenters, legislators and industry leaders.
The goal of the LEAD Experience is to empower teachers through incredible opportunities rich in professional networking, cultural values, agriculture/natural resources, education and development.
The 2023 LEAD Experience teachers were challenged to set marked goals following the retreat in five areas:
- Education
- Stewardship
- Agricultural Advocacy
- Community Service
