THREE PEOPLE ARRESTED AFTER TRAFFIC STOPS

Three people were arrested in separate incidents Friday and early Saturday after traffic stops.

Brenham Police report that Friday morning at 8:30 Sergeant Jimmy Ha initiated a traffic stop near the 800 block of Highway 290 East. Marijuana was found inside the vehicle during a search. The driver, Oscar Facundo-Mendez, 28 of Cypress, was also found to have an active warrant for his arrest for Motion to Revoke, DWI out of Washington County and was taken into custody for Possession of Marijuana less than 2 oz. and the active warrant.

Then Friday night at 10:50, Officer Grayson Marburger initiated a traffic stop at the 500 block of Highway 290 West. Marijuana was found in the vehicle during a search. The driver, Terrious Romalus Young, 23 of Houston, was placed under arrest for Possession of Marijuana less than 2 oz. and transported to the Washington County Jail.

Then early Saturday morning at 3:40, Officer Morong initiated a traffic stop on a passenger vehicle in the 800 block of Highway 290 East. The driver, Antonio Barron-Garcia, 45 of Caldwell, was found to be under the influence of an alcoholic beverage. Standardized Field Sobriety Tests were administered and due to his performance, he was placed under arrest Driving While Intoxicated.
