BRENHAM BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT APPROVES VARIANCE REQUEST

The Brenham Board of Adjustment on Monday unanimously approved a residential variance request.

After a public hearing, board members voted in favor of allowing Jack and Teresa Robinson to have a 3-foot, 11-inch south side yard setback, where a minimum of 5 feet is the standard, at a home at 1400 South Jackson Street.

This will permit the property owners to build a 400-square-foot detached carport directly in front and in line with the existing garage.  The garage was built in 1982, when the city’s required side-yard setback was 3 feet for detached accessory structures.
