FAYETTE COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE INVESTIGATING BURGLARIES
The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a pair of burglaries that occurred in the Mullins Prairie community.
Around 1am Tuesday morning, surveillance video shows two suspects wearing ski masks breaking the front glass window of the Mullins Prairie Store.
Store Manager Donna Benham told the Fayette County Record that the burglars took 20 bottles of liquor, and seven cases of beer and wine coolers.
The estimated cost of the stolen merchandise and to fix the broken window is approximately $3,500.
Then on Tuesday evening, just after 7:30pm, a couple walking their dogs on Loehr Road discovered a burglary at the New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church.
A glass door and several windows were broken.
Once inside, deputies found that the church had been ransacked, but nothing appeared to have been taken.
The burglary occurred sometime between when the church was locked up after Sunday services and when the break-in was discovered on Tuesday evening.
Sheriff’s Investigator Angela Lala told the Record that the two burglaries could possibly be related.
If anyone has any information on either burglary, they are asked to contact the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office at 979-968-5856 or Fayette County Crime Stoppers at 979-968-8477.
