AUSTIN, BRAZOS, BURLESON COUNTIES INSTITUTE BURN BAN
Three more area counties are now under a burn ban.
On Monday, Austin and Burleson counties enacted a ban on outdoor burning in unincorporated areas. Austin County’s ban is effective until it is rescinded, while Burleson County’s will stand for 90 days.
Today (Tuesday), Brazos County also approved a burn ban, prohibiting outdoor burning in unincorporated territory until October 25th.
The three join Colorado, Fayette and Lee counties on the active burn ban list in the area.
As of Monday, according to the Texas A&M Forest Service, nearly half of the counties in Texas are under a burn ban.
