ERCOT ISSUES WEATHER WATCH FOR SUNDAY, MONDAY

The Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) has issued a Weather Watch beginning on Sunday and continuing through Monday.

The Weather Watch comes as high temperatures are expected to place larger demand on the grid for electricity.

ERCOT expects grid conditions to remain normal and says it has enough capacity to meet projected demand.

This summer, ERCOT has set seven new all-time peak demand records for electricity usage, with the latest coming on August 1st at 83,593 MW.  The six-day supply and demand dashboard predicts the possibility of setting more records next week.

A Weather Watch is not a call for conservation.  However, residents are encouraged to keep an eye on the grid and plan ahead.
