BCDC BOARD TO MEET TUESDAY

The Brenham Community Development Corporation (BCDC) Board of Directors will discuss several economic projects at its meeting on Tuesday.

In a work session, the board will hear an update about D Bar B Sausage & Meats, also known as Kountry Boys Sausage, regarding a potential expansion to their existing building at 1909 Longwood Drive.  The expansion is for the processing facility cooler in order to accommodate increased production.

The board will also discuss notice given by Irby Construction Company of its intent to terminate its lease at 2501 Longwood Drive.  According to the agenda packet for the meeting, the company expects to vacate the property by August 14th.

Also in work session, board members will receive an update about the recently approved 2023-24 Fiscal Year budget.

In regular session, the board will consider the repurchase of 2.78 acres owned in the Brenham Business Center by Brenham Kitchens, LLC.  Per the agenda packet, the owner of Brenham Kitchens purchased the property in February 2022 with plans to build on the property.  However, upon researching cost estimates for construction and due to economic concerns, the owner does not foresee being able to afford to build any time in the foreseeable future.

Board members will then meet in executive session to deliberate regarding real property and associated matters for Project Color Guard and Project Deer in the Southwest Industrial Park.  The item for Project Color Guard will come back in open session for possible action.

The board will meet Tuesday at 7:30 a.m. in the second-floor conference room at Brenham City Hall.
