ERCOT EXTENDS WEATHER WATCH THROUGH FRIDAY

The Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) has extended its Weather Watch as prolonged high temperatures cause higher electric demand and the potential for lower reserves.

The Weather Watch, which was initially set to expire on Monday, will now continue until Friday, August 11th

ERCOT expects grid conditions to remain normal, but will monitor them closely and deploy all available tools to manage the grid.

A Weather Watch is not a call for conservation, but Texans are encouraged to keep an eye on the grid by going to www.ercot.com or signing up for notifications through the Texas Advisory and Notification System (TXANS)
