CUBS CONTINUE PREPARATIONS FOR UPCOMING SEASON
Brenham Cub Head Football Coach Danny Youngs joined KWHI on the Brenham Sportsline last (Monday) night to discuss the upcoming season.
The Cubs are beginning season two under Youngs, who took them to an 8-5 record last season. They finished as the District Runners-Up, and went three rounds deep in the playoffs.
One of the changes Youngs made last season, and that has carried on to this season has been practicing in the early morning hours from 6am-8am.
After graduating 26 seniors last year, Youngs discussed the holes they have been working to fill. Jordan Harvey, who is a junior, will be the starting quarterback. Harvey knows he has some big shoes to fill after a record setting season by Rylan Wooten last year. Youngs discussed what Harvey brings to the table and what is in store for him.
The Cubs will have their first scrimmage against Cy Park coming up on Thursday night at 6:30pm. Coach Youngs talked about how much the team is looking forward to facing someone else besides each other in practice.
The season opens next Friday, August 25, against Oak Ridge at Cub Stadium at 7:30pm. KWHI will broadcast the game live beginning with the pregame at 7pm.
