WASHINGTON COUNTY COMMISSIONERS TO MEET ON TUESDAY
The Washington County Commissioners Court has several items up for discussion at their next meeting on Tuesday morning.
One of the items is for the Washington County Sheriff’s Office. They are seeking to purchase Sig Sauer P365 9mm Handguns with Optic Sights for Non-Uniform Officers.
Chief Deputy Jay Petrash told commissioners at their meeting on August 8 that the reason they are making the switch from .357 to 9mm is because the .357 ammunition is becoming harder to find.
The new guns would be funded through the Sheriff’s Office Donation Account, and not with taxpayer money.
The commissioners are also expected to approve an order for a Special Election. The election is for 13 amendments to the Texas Constitution, and is scheduled to be held on November 7.
The Washington County Commissioners meet on Tuesday at 9am in the Washington County Courthouse.
Following the Commissioners Court session, there will be a meeting of the Pecan Glen Road District. The lone agenda item is to propose the 2023 property tax rate, and to take a record vote.
