BURTON AND ROUND TOP-CARMINE WRAP UP SCHULENBURG TOURNAMENT

The Burton Lady Panthers and the Round Top-Carmine Cubettes wrapped up the Schulenburg Tournament on Saturday.  Burton beat Edna 2-0 (27-25 and 25-15).

RTC beat Gonzales 2-0 (25-11 and 25-12). Tess Eilers led the offense with six kills. Mallory Krause had five kills, six digs, and nine assists. Jill Eilers added four kills, five digs, and nine assists. Maggie Salinas led the defense with 11 digs.

Then, in the head-to-head matchup, Round Top-Carmine beat Burton 2-1. The Lady Panthers won the first set 25-23.  The Cubettes came back and won the final two sets 25-10 and 25-19.

For RTC, Krause had five kills, nine digs, and 21 assists. Tess Eilers finished with eight kills and 13 digs. Kaysie Ward added seven kills. Jill Eilers had seven kills and nine assists. Maggie Salinas picked up five aces, and led the defense with 16 digs. Kim Rohde had 13 digs.

The Lady Panthers ended up going 5-3 in the tournament and are now 11-9 on the season. Next up, Burton will at Schulenburg tomorrow (Tuesday) night.  The JV plays at 5pm, while the Varsity plays afterwards.

The Cubettes went 5-2 in the tournament and are now 12-6 on the season. RTC will be at Weimar tomorrow (Tuesday) night.  The JV plays at 5pm, with the Varsity afterwards.

Mallory Krause had a huge tournament. She finished with two triple-doubles. Against East Bernard on Thursday, Krause finished 13 kills, 18 digs, and 13 assists. Then on Friday, against Brazos Wallis, she had 11 kills, 10 digs, and 17 assists.
