HILL COLLEGE HANDS BLINN MEN’S SOCCER THEIR FIRST LOSS
Blinn College Men's Soccer dropped a 3-1 decision to Hill College on Saturday in Hillsboro, Texas.
The loss dropped the Buccaneers to 1-1 overall on the season.
Blinn went into halftime deadlocked 1-1 with the Rebels thanks to a converted penalty kick by freshman midfielder Mathew Williams just before the first-half horn.
Hill scored twice after the break to pull away for the victory.
"We started poorly and never really got better," Blinn head coach Michael McBride said. "We had poor execution and made poor decisions today. I'm disappointed for our men after a phenomenal season-opening win, but we now understand that we have a lot of work to do. It's time for the lads to buckle down and learn from this."
The Buccaneers return to action when they host Ronin Soccer Club for their first home tilt of the season at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday at Rankin Field inside Hohlt Park in Brenham, Texas.
