WASHINGTON CO. APPRAISAL DISTRICT BOARD APPROVES ANNUAL CONTRACT WITH BRENHAM ISD

  

The Washington County Appraisal District Board of Directors approved the lone item facing it at its meeting today (Tuesday).

The board unanimously approved a contract with Brenham ISD for the 2023-24 year. 

The annual contract permits the school district to perform all duties of the appraisal district.  It also designates the person who is employed by the school district as the tax assessor-collector to serve as chief appraiser of the appraisal district. 

The cost is equal to the appraisal district’s budget, excluding the amount budgeted for collections. 

During her monthly report to the board, Chief Appraiser Dyann White said the appraisal district’s software conversion is complete and that employees are working live in the new software program for collections and appraisal. 

White said previously that the new software, along with an update coming to the appraisal district website, will improve functionality and productivity while allowing property owners to better monitor and understand their appraisals.
