BRENHAM POLICE ARREST SEVEN FOR MARIJUANA POSSESSION

  

Seven people were arrested on marijuana possession charges as a result of three traffic stops made by Brenham police this past weekend.

Around 9:45 p.m. Saturday, Officer Myles Masters stopped a vehicle for an equipment violation in the 1100 block of Highway 290 West.  Marijuana was found inside the vehicle during a search, and initial investigation revealed that all five occupants of the vehicle were in possession of marijuana. 

21-year-old Julian Diaz-Perez of Austin, 31-year-old Virginia Marie Gonzales of Dale, 21-year-old Raul Pedraza of Pflugerville, 22-year-old Jose Ignacio Salas of Pflugerville and 22-year-old Alexander De Jesus Talavera-Ramirez of Yoakum were booked in at the Washington County Jail for Possession of Marijuana less than 2oz.

Just past 9:45 p.m. Sunday, officers were advised of a possible stolen vehicle traveling westbound on Highway 290 towards Brenham from the county line.  The vehicle was located and stopped in the 1300 block of Prairie Lea Street. 

The department’s investigation found that the vehicle was not stolen.  However, marijuana was discovered inside.  The passenger, 26-year-old Jonathan Sanchez-Hernandez of Austin, was placed under arrest for Possession of Marijuana less than 2oz.

Then at around 11:45 p.m. Sunday, Officer Eric Crosby stopped a vehicle for an equipment violation in the 1700 block of Highway 290 West.  After finding marijuana inside the vehicle following a search, the driver, 23-year-old Mason Eldridge of Manvel, was taken into custody for Possession of Marijuana less than 2oz.
