BURTON CROSS COUNTRY COMPETED IN CALDWELL INVITATIONAL

The Burton Panthers continued their cross country season this past Saturday with a trip to Davidson Creek Park in Caldwell.

The Lady Panthers took the course first.  When the dust had settled, they walked away with two medals and a 3rd place team finish, losing a tie breaker to Mumford, their district rivals.  Top finishers for the Lady Panthers were Junior Peyton Sigsbee, 1st overall, with a personal best 12:40 and Junior Avery Applewhite, 4th overall, also with a personal best of 14:32.

The Burton Panthers ran the second race, also 2 miles.  The boys also finished 3rd overall.  Top finishers were Senior Hunter Hancock, 4th overall and 11:08, and Sophomore Devlin Douglas, 5th overall and 11:10.

The Panthers are off this week before heading to Magnolia's "Dog Pound" Invitational at Magnolia High School on Saturday, September 9th.
