BLINN COLLEGE FOUNDATION NAMES NEW ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR

  
Melanie Johnson (Blinn College)

The Blinn College Foundation is bringing in a new face to be their associate director.

Melanie Johnson brings almost two decades of fundraising experience to the organization.

Johnson is a native Texan, who grew up in the Houston area.  She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Professions from Texas State University in San Marcos. 

She most recently served as the foundation coordinator at the Oregon Health and Science University’s Hillsboro Medical Center.

Johnson will be housed at the Blinn Central Administrative Services Building in Bryan, and her focus will primarily be on Brazos County, which is home to the Bryan Campus and Texas A&M RELLIS.

The Blinn College Foundation provides financial support for programs and activities that enhance the quality of education for Blinn students and expand educational opportunities. They oversee more than 300 endowed scholarships.

Current high school and college students can apply for Blinn scholarships by completing the application at www.blinn.edu/scholarships.

Endowed scholarships are available to incoming and returning students from a wide range of backgrounds, majors, and experiences. 

Students are considered based on high academic achievement, participation in student activities, and community involvement.
