TWO ACCIDENT CALLS FOR BRENHAM FIRE DEPT. THURSDAY
Two vehicle accidents were among three calls for the Brenham Fire Department on Thursday.
At 9 a.m., Brenham firefighters were dispatched to West Main Street and Burleson Street for a report of a crash. They arrived and found a two-vehicle accident with undescribed injuries. Units blocked traffic and waited for EMS to make the scene. Once both vehicles were removed from the roadway, units returned to the station.
The department was called out again around 6:30 p.m. to the 4100 block of Highway 36 North for a crash with entrapment. When firefighters arrived, they found a two-vehicle accident with one person still inside their vehicle getting out. They helped the patient out of the vehicle and stood by for EMS. Units used dry absorbent on the fluids leaking and cleaned the roadway off.
The last call of the day was just before 9 p.m. in the 900 block of West 5th Street for an alarm, which was caused by residents cooking. The department reset the alarm and returned to service.
