TWO MINOR CALLS FOR BRENHAM FIRE DEPT. FRIDAY

The Brenham Fire Department responded to a pair of minor calls on Friday.

At 9 a.m., units were called out to Kruse Village at 1700 East Stone Street for a report of an alarm sounding.  They arrived to find an alarm company on scene repairing the system and returned to service.

Shortly after 9 p.m., the department was dispatched to Bealls at 918 Highway 290 East for a report of a structure fire.  Firefighters did not find anything from the exterior of the building, but upon entering, they discovered an internet switch causing the smell and haze.  They removed the internet switch and advised the store manager what was found, and all power was turned off to that area of the building.
