COLORADO CO. FAIR BEGINS THURSDAY

  

Festivities for the 45^th Annual Colorado County Fair in Columbus get underway tonight (Thursday).

The livestock show and sale portion begins today and continues through Saturday, with the junior sale happening Saturday at 1 p.m.  The fair and carnival will run September 14-16.

This evening will feature the pageants for the Fair Queen, Membership Queen, Junior Fair Queen, Little Mister and Miss, and Junior Miss contestants.  The Fair Queen contestants are Alinna Elizondo of Eagle Lake, Scarlett McClelland of Columbus, Karina Rubio of Columbus, Taylr Tipton of Columbus, and Ashley Treece of Weimar.

The Membership Queen will be crowned next Thursday, September 14^th, so contestants can continue to sell tickets and memberships until 5 p.m. on Wednesday, September 13^th.

Next week will kick off with live music from the Blue Denim Band on Thursday, September 14^th.

On Friday, September 15^th, performers will include DJ Jimmiemix and DJ Cowboy, Sakura Guerrero, Rodeo Norteno, and Grupo Relampagueando de Gustavo Reyna. 

Saturday, September 16^th will have a parade with the theme of “Vegas Lights and Country Fair Nights”, as well as a barbecue cook-off and a tractor pull.  The evening concludes with entertainment from the Texas Dream Band and headliner Thompson Square.
