SEALY K-9 OFFICER PASSES AWAY
The Sealy Police Department is in mourning after the loss of a beloved member of their team.
K-9 Officer Apollo passed away during the early morning hours on Monday surrounded by family.
According to a post on the Department’s Facebook Page, he had been recently diagnosed with an age-related medical condition, and his condition worsened more rapidly than anyone expected.
Apollo was born in the Czech Republic on Christmas Day in 2012, and imported to the U.S. two years later.
He was donated to the Sealy Police Department by K9Officers.org.
Apollo and his partner, Officer Eric Bryant, trained together at the Houston K-9 Academy.
At the time of his passing, Apollo had served the department for nearly a decade.
In lieu of gifts, the department asks everyone to consider making donations to K9Officers.org, which is a non-profit organization that has donated dozens of dogs to law enforcement agencies across the state of Texas.
