BRENHAM NEXT NAMES NEW EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Brenham NEXT has hired a new executive director.

The youth ministry, which oversees the Summer JAM program and has plans to bring back the after-school program known as BLAST, has brought on Shelby Smith into the role.
Smith, who started the position on September 1st, is a Brenham High School graduate who was most recently the group camp assistant director for Camp Eagle Adventure Camps in Rocksprings. Prior to that, she worked as a public relations specialist from 2018-2022 at Blue Bell Creameries.
Smith graduated with a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Sam Houston State University in 2016 and obtained a master’s degree in international community development in 2021.
Brenham NEXT says it is excited about Smith coming to lead the organization’s ministries and believes her experience and enthusiasm will help grow them even more.
