CUBS TO HOST REMATCH WITH NEW BRAUNFELS

The Brenham Cub Football Team will host the New Braunfels Unicorns in a long awaited re-match. Last year, New Braunfels defeated the Cubs 40-20 at Unicorn Stadium.

Coming into tonight (Thursday), the Cubs are 2-1 on the season. Brenham opened with a 16-7 victory over Oakridge, then they lost a heartbreaker to Belton 27-20, but bounced back with a 31-24 win over Bryan two weeks ago. The Cubs had a bye last week.

New Braunfels, a 6A team, is 1-3 on the season, but has played some really tough competition. They lost to Denton Ryan 27-24. Their lone win came the following week against Seguin 45-22. The Unicorns have then dropped back to back games to Canyon 32-38, and Pflugerville Weiss 52-50.

Kickoff is scheduled for 7pm at Cub Stadium. KWHI will have live coverage beginning with the pregame at 6:30pm on 1280AM, 101.7FM, and KWHI.com.
