MAN CHARGED WITH POSSESSION OF FENTANYL IN AUSTIN CO.
A Houston man was arrested Wednesday in Austin County after authorities say he was in possession of pills containing fentanyl.
Austin County Sheriff’s Office investigators who are currently assigned to the Westside Narcotics Task Force stopped a vehicle on I-10 at the 716 westbound mile marker, west of Sealy, for a traffic violation.
During the stop, a search of the vehicle resulted in investigators finding and seizing 43 grams of pills that tested positive for fentanyl.
The driver, 24-year-old Juan Orozco, was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance and taken to the Austin County Jail, where he was booked in without incident.
The Westside Narcotics Task Force is comprised of investigators from the sheriff’s offices of Austin, Fayette and Waller counties, as well as the Bellville, Sealy and Hempstead police departments and the Drug Enforcement Administration.
