The Washington County Ladies Lions Club awarded five Melvin Jones Fellowships at their meeting yesterday (Monday) at the Cannery Kitchen.

The Fellowships are named in honor of Jones, who was the founder of Lions Club International.

Past International Director Lion, Joe Al Picone, made the presentations which highlighted the qualifications and service history of each member receiving the Melvin Jones Fellowship, or the Progressive Melvin Jones Fellowship.

Sheila Webb and Janna Alsobrook received their first MJF plaques and pins.

Linda Kocian and Sheri Kruger were presented with their second MJF, which earned them the designation of Progressive MJF.

The Progressive MJF designation is represented by a pin with a diamond.

Meanwhile, Linda Oberhoff received her fifth Melvin Jones Fellowship.  She was presented with a pin that contains four diamonds.

Picone also represented the Washington County Ladies Lions Club at the recent U.S./Canada Meeting.  At the meeting, Washington County received the Lions Club International Foundation’s designation of a Model Club.
